Pine Creek Campground in central Nevada is a true hidden gem. This campground is likely one that you've never visited before, but once you go and stay there once, you'll want to return again and again.
Many people think of central Nevada as being a vast and empty desert. While this is true in some areas, others are quite different than most might imagine. Pine Creek Campground is located on the eastern side of the Toquima Mountain Range in the Monitor Valley. Due to the Peavine Creek and the moist nature of this area, you'll find this campground and the areas that surround it to be surprisingly green and lush.
There are 21 standard campsites in this campground and one larger campsite that is reserved for groups. The sites are quite spacious and come with fire pits, grills, and picnic tables.
They're perfect for camping with an RV or camper. Most of the sites can accommodate campers up to 35 feet in length.
Of course, this is a great place for tent camping, too.
Most of the sites offer shade and are quite private and separate from the other campsites.
There are three vault toilets at this campground and the campground hosts take great care to keep them clean for the campground's guests.
When it comes time to head out and explore the area, there are a number of trails to check out. You can visit the Arc Dome Wilderness, Toms Canyon, Mount Jefferson, and the Alta Toquima Wilderness Area.
Dogs are allowed at this campground, too, but you'll need to keep them on leashes. They'll love playing in the water of Peavine Creek.
This campground is one that is super special. It's one that few have visited before, due to its remote location, but it's absolutely worth the drive. You and your companions are sure to have a great and memorable time at Pine Creek Campground!
