Everybody loves a good ghost story and here in Nevada, we have plenty of them. If you're the type of person who thrives off of exploring Nevada's haunted destinations, then you'll definitely want to read up on what is considered the most haunted hotel in the nation. The Goldfield Hotel has quite a reputation. In fact, it's been featured in several films and television shows because of the creepy stories that surround this place. The popular show called "Ghost Adventures" has made not just one but FOUR visits to investigate the paranormal activity of this place. There's definitely something going on here, and it's not for the faint of heart. Let's check out one of the most haunted places in Nevada.

Of all the Nevada haunted places, Goldfield is one of the many mining boomtowns that came to life when gold was discovered in the early 20th century. Today, just a few hundred people call this place home. Most of the buildings are in a dilapidated state and it mostly resembles what you would call a "living ghost town."

Unlike many so-called "ghost towns," Goldfield is the real deal. It's crazy to think this little town rapidly became the largest community in Nevada, only to quickly dwindle just a few years later. Luckily, the town still contains many structures from its incredible beginnings.

The Goldfield Hotel is often seen as the centerpiece of the town. It's large and stately. Back in the day, this hotel was considered one of the grandest buildings in the Silver State. However, as the town began to decline, so did the hotel.

Over a century after its construction, it's considered one of the most haunted locations in the state. Several people have made visits to the hotel just to see if they can connect with the spirits that are rumored to linger here.

One of the most famous spirits is a woman named Elizabeth and her story is a sad one.

Legend has it that Elizabeth became pregnant with George Wingfield's (one of the hotel's first owners) child. When he found out, he chained Elizabeth to a radiator in room 109 of the hotel. He supplied her with food and water until she gave birth. Some people say Elizabeth died during childbirth. Others say Wingfield murdered her and threw the baby into an old mining shaft. People have reported hearing both a baby and a woman crying coming from room 109.

Others have reported hearing strange sounds and experiencing odd shifts in temperature when visiting the hotel. It's hard to argue with the fact that something paranormal lurks in this abandoned hotel.

In fact, one of the most famous episodes of Ghost Adventures was filmed in 2004. The host of the show, Zak Bagans, captured what looked to be a levitating brick as it violently launched across the room, which may be proof that this is a truly haunted hotel in Nevada. There are several recurring spirits to look out for, such as a woman who is thought to have hanged herself and a man who died in a gun battle on the fourth floor.

The hotel is considered private property, so if you wish to visit, you must contact the owners for the tour.
