The Stanton Creek Cabins Offer A Classic And Possibly Haunted Montana Experience
Are you planning a trip to Glacier National Park this year? If so, we highly recommend making Stanton Creek Cabins your home base. Perfect for families, friends, hikers, and stargazers, these newly renovated cabins and unique Luna Domes are perfect for enjoying some peace and quiet. There's also a slight but real chance the property is haunted by the spirit of the original owner.
The Stanton Creek Cabins are located on Highway 2 East in Pinnacle, between Glacier National Park’s west and east entrances and the Great Bear Wilderness.
Needless to say, this is the perfect home base for outdoor enthusiasts.
It all started in 1932, when Stanton Creek Lodge was established as a tourist stop selling huckleberries and other provisions.
The lodge soon expanded to cabins and an RV park.
These days, all cabins have been fully renovated, and the property now has Treehouse Tent Cocoons known as Luna Domes.
Treehouse Tent Cocoons include a full-sized bed, solar light, and an electrical outlet.
There are no bathrooms in the Luna Domes -- you'll have to use the shared bathhouse -- but the experience is worth it.
Sleeping under the stars is a magical experience here.
Cabin options range from standard studio cabins to one and two-bedroom options.
All cabins except studio cabins have private baths, and they come with basic amenities like bedding and towels (and satellite TV).
If you're here on a quiet summer night, you just might hear the faint sounds of arguing in the distance... and you may even think you hear a gunshot.
Many a guest has report hearing just that. A few have even seen doorknobs turning when no one is around. Some believe this is the spirit of Stanton Creek John, the previous owner who was notorious for firing gunshots to scare non-customers who tried to use the bathroom in the main lodge.
Of course, the odds are good that you'll simply have a fantastic, ghost-free stay.
The Stanton Creek Cabins sell out fast, so make sure to make a reservation as soon as you decide to go.
Have you ever stayed at the Stanton Creek Cabins or slept under the stars in a Treehouse Tent Cocoon?
