Davis Bayou Campground in Mississippi offers a rustic getaway with modern amenities, hiking trails, and historical sites.

Perfect for history buffs and nature lovers alike, the CCC Spur Trail includes informative markers about the construction of the park and ruins of a building that once stood on its grounds.
The 0.40-mile trail is rated as easy.
Brimming with exceptional sites, the Davis Bayou Trail features a boardwalk that leads over a salt marsh and bayou.
Remember to keep your eyes peeled for wildlife.
This trail ends at a picnic area, so don’t forget to pack a lunch.
The 1.8-mile trail is rated as easy.
Easy to access, the Nature’s Way Trail has its own parking lot, which is located on Bob McGhee Road.
Along the trail, you’ll find several markers, which provide lots of info on the plants and animals in the area, in addition to observation decks for taking in the stunning surroundings.
The 0.45-mile loop trail is rated as easy.
While staying at the campground, consider paying a visit to one of the nearby barrier islands. Don’t have your own boat? No problem; Ship Island Excursions offers ferry service to and from the island.
Much more than a tropical paradise, Ship Island is brimming with history, which you can learn about firsthand thanks to Fort Massachusetts.
The fort, which dates back to the 1850s, can be toured and includes a few informative markers with facts about the historic structure.
