We Found the Perfect Cozy Cabin in Minnesota for a Winter Weekend
Whether you're looking for some winter hygge or an adventure, this cozy Airbnb cabin in Minnesota is perfect for a weekend getaway.
Whether you choose to label it as such or not, hygge - a Scandinavian term for taking time to enjoy simple pleasures - is a thing for us folks in the Bold North, especially in winter. As fun as it is to get out and enjoy all the awesome things to do in Minnesota during winter, it's also nice to just cozy up with your favorite people or pastime and simply exist in the moment. (If you ask me, a cozy setting, a warming beverage, and a crackling fire help to set the mood.) So, if you're looking for an incredible place to settle in for some hygge in this winter, look no further than South Haven and this cozy Airbnb cabin in Minnesota.
Located between the Twin Cities and St. Cloud, this winter getaway cabin is within easy reach for most folks in the state. Although its four bedrooms and three baths can accommodate up to eight guests, it works just find for a couple, a small group of friends, or even a solo getaway for some serenity.
The interior spaces are open and welcoming, with bright, natural light and plenty of windows, so you can enjoy the outdoors from inside on cold, winter days. The kitchen offers plenty of space for food prep or snacking, while the comfy furniture is perfect for curling up with a blanket or two, a book, and a warm mug of something delicious.
The deck and screen porch are also wonderful spaces to spend time on milder days, taking in views of Lake Sylvia and the surrounding woods and enjoying a morning coffee in the bracing air.
If you need a break from all that hygge, head out into the woods - or, if it's properly frozen, onto Lake Sylvia - for a hike, snowshoe or, cross-country skiing adventure. The ice fishing is reportedly quite good, as well, if you're the angling sort. For those wishing to stray even farther afield, Powder Ridge ski area and Lake Maria State Park (one of my all-season favorites) are both just minutes away.
And is there a better way to settle in after a day outside on the snow or ice - or an afternoon all cozied up inside - than poking at a crackling fire, the stars or aurora over your head, and feeling the heat warm your face? I don't think so.
