This Airbnb in Minnesota Is Peak Fall Vibes

All those folks out there kicking up a fuss about fall colors in New England or Appalachia are sleeping on an autumn foliage goldmine: Minnesota. That's right, when we hit our fall peak here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, it doesn't get much better. So keep your Berkshires and Adirondacks and Shenandoah, we have the North Shore, the Chippewa National Forest, and the valleys of the Minnesota, Mississippi, and St. Croix Rivers. Better yet, there are plenty of places where you can go to immerse yourself in all the vibes that come with fall in Minnesota.

A prime example is the Hygge Hideaway near Lutsen, where you'll find fall foliage hotspots like Oberg Mountain and the gondola at Lutsen Mountains, which carries you across a steep valley bursting in autumnal splendor and offers views out to Lake Superior. Once you're tucked happily into the Hygge Hideaway, though, you may not want to venture too far from the property.

Tucked onto a peninsula protruding into Caribou Lake, this beautiful wooded property is the perfect fall escape in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. With three bedrooms, six beds, and two baths, there's plenty of space for you and nine of your best friends. You'll have to leave you furry friends and noisy neighbors at home, though, as not pets or parties are permitted on the premises of this peaceful property.

You and your guests will love gathering around the massive fireplace after a day of leaf peeping. From the Hygge Hideaway, you don't have to go far. The Caribou Trail Trailhead is less than a mile from the property; or you, if you bring a canoe, kayak, or paddle board, you can glide out onto Caribou Lake from the nearby public water access and surround yourself with bright foliage along the shoreline, its reflection dancing across the ripples.

If that seems like you're getting a little far afield when you have such a beautiful base camp, I totally understand. The Hygge Hideaway has a spacious deck, as well as a fire pit with seating, where you can enjoy the fiery colors of the leaves until the sun goes down, and then lean back and gaze up at the star-filled sky. You can head inside to the enclosed porch if the weather doesn't work with your plans. (You'll also have access to a massive game room in a converted garage with everything from bubble hockey and skee ball to a bar and comfortable seating area.)

On the other hand, you could also simply head out to the property's spacious barrel sauna, fire it up, and enjoy the autumn vistas while you bask in its warm embrace. Pick your own adventure.
