Did you know that there's a place in the Land of 10,000 Lakes where you can stay in a cabin with its own private waterfall? It's true - all you need to do to find it is head up to the North Shore of Lake Superior and check in at Cascade Lodge in Minnesota. The lodge also happens to be adjacent to the stunning Cascade River State Park and all its tumbling waterfalls and rapids, as well. There may not be a better place to stay in the Bold North if you're a lover and/or chaser of waterfalls.

Folks have been escaping to historic Cascade Lodge since the 1920s - and once you see where it is, you'll absolutely understand why.
Fronted by panoramic views of Lake Superior and its own slice of basalt shoreline, the lodge backs up against state park and national forest land that marches up the dramatic bluffs behind it.

Not enough of a waterfall for you? No worries. Jump on one of the trails connecting Cascade Lodge with Cascade River State Park, and in less than a mile, you'll be enjoying a feast of waterfalls.
In the park, the Cascade River tumbles down fall after fall as it makes it way to Lake Superior. I particularly enjoy visiting in the springtime, when the snowmelt has the falls roaring!
