There’s nothing better than a summertime camping adventure with loved ones here in the Great Lakes State. Michigan is home to plenty of fantastic campgrounds, but it’s not always easy to find a spot that allows for quick and direct access to our state’s gorgeous bodies of water. There’s one campground here in Michigan, though, that will have the entire family jumping for joy.
Harrisville State Park is located at 248 State Park Rd in Harrisville.
This unforgettable campground sits directly on the shores of Lake Huron, and you’ll find yourself charmed by its natural beauty as soon as you arrive and set up camp.

Whether you opt for traditional tent camping or bring along your RV, you’ll find the perfect spot to enjoy a summertime getaway. The campground is home to 195 sites.
Of course, the beach itself plays a major role in the appeal of Harrisville State Park. No matter how many times you visit, the sandy shores of Lake Huron never fail to delight.
The 107-acre state park is one of Michigan’s oldest, established in 1921. In addition to a beautiful beach, you’ll also find hiking trails and plenty of forested splendor.

If you want to take your outdoor adventure to the next level, you can even rent one of Harrisville State Park’s lovely mini-cabins. Can you imagine anything more charming?
As if that weren’t enough, the state park is just a stone’s throw from the town of Harrisville, which features restaurants, grocery options, ice cream shops, and more.
By the time your unforgettable summertime getaway at Harrisville State Park has drawn to a close, you’ll be counting down the days until your next adventure. Happy camping!

California has Disneyland. Florida has four whole Disney parks. Nothing quite as extravagant as either of those exists in Michigan, and, honestly, that's okay with me. We don't need as much of that fancy man-made stuff here in the Great Lakes State.

Our great state is home to a massive amount of natural wonders, like the breathtaking Lake of the Clouds. Another thing my new home state is well-known for is its amazing Michigan campgrounds. Some of them might be considered a theme park all on their own!
Jellystone Park at North Port Huron is situated on the shores of Lake Huron. Guests can rent cabins, tent sites, or even bring their own RVs for their visit.
There are various rental options for both tent-sleepers and RV-ers, alike. Sites range from standard back-in sites to lake view sites.
All RV rental sites come with electric, cable, and a fire ring, for those late-night marshmallow roasts. There are seasonal options, as well - these include water and sewer and rentals last the entire season long... not just a couple of relaxing days.
If you lean more towards cabin life when you're roughing it, North Port Huron Jellystone Campground has you covered with a variety of cabin rentals that can sleep up to 8 people! These cozy cabins come equipped with many of the comforts of home... including air conditioning.
This amazing Michigan campground feels more like a waterpark than a traditional Disneyland-style theme park. Not only does North Port Huron Jellystone live on the shores of Lake Huron, but there are also pools, splash pads, and more.
I don't know about you, but a waterslide without long lines sounds like a dream scenario to me. I could rush down the curvy slide as many times as I wanted, without wasting my "fun" time sweating in line.

This incredible Michigan campground is where families go to make life-long memories. In addition to the water-based activities, the campground offers volleyball, mini-golf, a playground, gem-mining, and a jump pillow.
However, it's the water activities that really shine at North Port Huron Jellystone Campground. Yes, there's a different sort of jump pillow on the water.
North Port Huron Jellystone Campground is proud of its floating obstacle course. This super-fun activity includes two separate sections: one for the kiddos... and one for everyone else.
Speaking of the kiddos, did you know that Yogi Bear and friends have been known to make appearances at this amazing Michigan Campground? Sounds like a great chance for a photo opp to me!
One of the things I love about this fabulous Michigan campground is that there are accessibility options for those who require it. The pools are ADA-friendly, with lifts of zero-entry access.
Another thing I love is the included fire pit in each campsite. I'd pack a Jiffy Pop for every night of my trip!
And the nights at this amzing Michigan campground can truly be magical. You're so far away from it all, the sky looks like a blanket of stars.
Being away from the city lights also allows visitors to North Port Huron Jellystone Campground to see some pretty spectacular sights. This campground might just be the perfect place to chill by the fire and watch the sky go by.
There might not be rollercoasters or Ferris wheels at this amazing Michigan campground - if you want that, you won't want to miss Michigan's Adventure in Muskegon. However, at North Port Huron Jellystone Campground, there are untold memories to be made. These memories would be perfect for a set of old-school Polaroid pics.
Have you visited an incredible Michigan campground? I'd love to hear all about it in the comments!
One of my most vivid memories from being a kid was riding "The Duck", on a family vacation. What is "The Duck"? Well, it is a vehicle that transitions from the land to the sea to make a truly unique tour experience. While there are no "Ducks" at this waterpark campground in Michigan, there is a whole lot of fun to be had.

Duck Creek RV Park and Campground aims to turn camping from just a simple overnight stay into an entire experience! Located in Muskegon, this waterfront RV park is right across the street from Michigan's Adventure, one of the best amusement parks in Michigan.
This Muskegon RV campground is an idyllic location for a family adventure. There are a variety of options for RV rental spaces, including pull-ins and back-ins, with waterfront options for both.
Duck Creek RV Resort is an excellent selection for groups, too. There are a few RV spaces that can accommodate up to four RVs at a time!
There are also cabins available to rent if you don't own your own RV. Each cabin sleeps up to six people in two bedrooms.
These cabins are not like a stay at a hotel or AirBnb, however. You will need to provide your own sheets, pillows, and, of course, towels.
You're going to want to bring a lot of towels with you because the waterpark is the true star of this campground in Michigan. It's well-maintained, clean, and ready for fun.
Included in your rental fee is access to a lot of recreational equipment, including waterslides and a variety of places to swim. There's also a private lake with a beach and swimming area that looks like a dream.

Having more than one swimming option helps to keep things less crowded than they do at your typical resort, which is appreciated. However, whenever I visit, I won't be heading to one of the pools. Instead, my first stop will be...
The lazy river! In my opinion, being in a tube float, lazing down a manmade river without a care in the world is one of my top 10 activities.
This waterpark campground in Michigan truly feels like the perfect place to escape for a family adventure. You're on your own, with tons of stuff to do if you want to. Or, you could just kick back and watch the world go by.
Whatever the adults choose to do at Duck Creek RV Campground, the kids will find ways to keep themselves busy; like with this incredible play structure. It looks like a dream to explore, doesn't it?
There are a few amenities at this waterpark campground in Michigan that aren't included in your rental rate, including gem mining, mini-golf, bicycle rentals, and more. The water's right there, so we recommend renting a boat at least once during your stay.
If you want to take the family out on the water, Duck Creek RV Campground in Muskegon, Michigan has you covered. They offer a variety of boat rental options, including some solo kayaks. (You know, if you find yourself needing some alone time.) The duck boats look the most fun, though.
The possibilities for fun at Duck Creek RV Campground are seemingly endless. In addition to everything I've already mentioned, there is also shuffleboard, volleyball, a Saturday night hayride for the kids, and a sport I've never heard of before called "Gaga ball".
If you go to this waterfront campground in Michigan and decide to play "Gaga ball", please let me know how it is! I love learning about new things.
Duck Creek RV Campground is clean, well-maintained, and full of fun things for the entire family to enjoy. A visit to this waterpark campground in Michigan feels like an excellent addition to your summertime plans, doesn't it? One more thing that makes this waterpark more budget-friendly than most - you can bring your own food to enjoy while you're also enjoying the park! We recommend bringing a cooler, of course. We love this backpack-style one - it keeps your arms free for all that fun you'll be having!
Plus, Muskegon is a great part of the state! Not too far down the street from this amazing campground, you'll find river tubing - another excellent family activity.
