There is nothing better than a great beach read, especially when the setting of the story is local. I have been devouring novels by author Elin Hilderbrand for years and can never get enough of her scandalous tales of life on the island of Nantucket. Needless to say, when one of my favorite Hilderbrand books, The Perfect Couple, was turned into a Netflix minidrama, I was ecstatic. The popular series was filmed in Massachusetts, and rumor has it that a local VRBO called The Beach Estate was the lavish home featured in the show. 

Regardless of whether this rumor is true or not, Mattapoisett’s Beach Estate definitely gives off vibes reminiscent of the “Summerland” home in The Perfect Couple. The Beach Estate is so fun and relaxing that you don’t even need to step foot off the property to enjoy a memorable vacation, but if you do decide to venture out, you will find many interesting places to visit in the area. Ned's Point Lighthouse is a wondrous sight to see, and the New Bedford Whaling Museum is only a ‪12-minute drive. There is even a haunted house nearby.
