Sleep in a Gorgeous 1846 Church When You Book a Stay in This Small-Town Airbnb in Massachusetts

Scenic Martha's Vineyard is a top travel destination for so many reasons. The six stunning towns that make up the island are filled with beautiful beaches, fantastic restaurants, and lots of fun activities. But where is the best place to stay on the Vineyard? While there are lots of wonderful hotels and rentals on the island, I personally enjoy vacationing at a place with a bit of history. If you're looking for a rental property in West Tisbury, I've found a gorgeous historic Airbnb that is actually a former church. The Lambert Cove Church is the perfect spot for a relaxing seaside getaway in Massachusetts.

The Lambert Cove Church is an amazing rental that sleeps up to six guests. The historic church was built in 1846. It was one of the island’s oldest Methodist churches, and it welcomed worshipers for over 150 years. It has since been preserved and renovated and is now a unique Airbnb that offers guests the perfect mix of modern amenities and historic charm.

When you book a stay at the Lambert Cove Church, you will have access to both the church and the parsonage. The church portion of the rental is an open-concept space that includes a king-sized bed, a dining area, a comfortable living space, and a kitchenette — essentially a studio space. The owners have preserved the church’s antique tin ceiling and original light fixtures, adding to its historic charm. You can even ring the church bell, which is enough to get me to book a stay here!

Enter the church's modern bathroom, and you'll find a round soaking tub where you can relax after a day at the beach. Talk about luxurious!

Wander over to the parsonage and you will find two more bedrooms and two bathrooms. This two-story building also has a cozy living room, a fully equipped kitchen, and a dining area. With three bedrooms and three bathrooms between the church and the parsonage, up to six guests can stay here.

On the first floor of the parsonage is the living space, a gorgeous kitchen, and a dining room area complete with a wood stove. The primary bedroom, painted in a beachy blue color, is also on this level and has a queen-sized bed. There is one full bathroom on this level as well.

Head upstairs, and you'll find a bedroom with a queen-sized bed, a built-in bookshelf, and a TV on the wall. There's also a stunning spa-like bathroom to make your stay feel luxurious.

A Vineyard rental wouldn’t be complete without a beautiful outdoor space. The Lambert Cove Church features a spacious patio, fire pit, and BBQ area. It is a great spot for enjoying your morning coffee or relaxing with cocktails at the end of the day.
