Relax on This Luxury Houseboat — Boston’s Dream Late-Summer Escape
Trying to squeeze in one last summer getaway? Spending the night on this Boston houseboat is such a fun way to end the season.
Summer is quickly drawing to an end, and I have to admit that I am not ready for the season to end. I thought that I would have so much more time to spend outside, soaking up the sun and having cocktails by the sea. However, the months have just flown by way too fast. While the cool autumn weather is sure to be lurking just around the corner, we luckily still have time to experience a few more weeks of warm breezes and sunny skies. And what better place to do this than out on the water?
If you are looking for a unique end-of-summer or early-fall vacation rental in Boston with fantastic waterfront views, I have found an unusual Airbnb that is the perfect spot for you. How does an upscale two-bedroom yacht sound? If you are ready for a unique vacation, step aboard the Carpe Diem II.
Staying on a yacht is an incredible experience in itself, but what makes this Airbnb extra special is its location. The Carpe Diem II is docked in the historic Charlestown Navy Yard, close to popular Boston attractions such as the Bunker Hill Monument, USS Constitution, and the Freedom Trail. Just roll out of bed, and you have the city right at your fingertips.
But why choose a boat instead of a hotel? Well, besides being guaranteed an unusual overnight adventure, a stay on the Carpe Diem II provides plenty of room for a party of up to five guests. There are two separate staterooms, each with a queen-sized bed with luxury linens. Each room has its own bathroom, so no waiting in line to shower. There is also an additional convertible sleeping area in the living room.
And while we are talking about the boat’s common areas, let me tell you about some of the seaside spots where you will probably want to spend most of your time on board. The yacht has two outdoor areas that are perfect places for catching great views, having drinks, and spending time together as a group. A comfortable main indoor salon is also a nice place to retreat when you want to get out of the sun. The yacht has central air conditioning and heat, so you will be comfortable no matter what the end-of-season weather brings to Boston.
The boat also has a fully equipped galley with a convection microwave/oven, cooktop, fridge, cookware, and everything you need to whip up a fabulous meal on board. There is also an indoor dinette table that comfortably seats up to four guests. But if you don’t feel like making dinner while on vacation, no worries. There are plenty of great restaurants nearby, including lots of delicious Italian eateries in the nearby North End neighborhood. My favorite is La Famiglia Giorgio’s.
Are you ready to board Carpe Diem II? If you have previously vacationed on this yacht, please tell us all about your experience. If you are looking for a fun way to explore the sights in Boston, you may wish to embark on the Boston Shore Excursion: Boston Hop-On Hop-Off Trolley Tour, which has a stop directly in front of the Charlestown Navy Yard.
