The Polar Express™ Train Ride
The first part of our holly jolly holiday adventure in Massachusetts takes you to the Cape Cod Central Railroad for The Polar Express™ Train Ride. All aboard this festive train that takes off for the North Pole to see and meet with Santa and his elves. The train departs from 70 Main Street in Buzzards Bay and offers a memorable 1.5-hour ride.

Each guest will be handed a golden ticket that the conductor will punch. They will then enjoy listening to Christmas carols and storytelling, savoring hot chocolate and shortbread cookies, and creating Massachusetts holiday memories that will last a lifetime! Once the Polar Express™ Train Ride terminates back at the station, it's time to head to the Wequassett Resort & Golf Club in Harwich, which transforms into a winter wonderland this time of year.
Book your Polar Express™ train tickets on the Cape Cod Central Railroad website. You'll have a choice of standard or first class, or a deluxe class 4-top table, a premium class 4-top table, or a premium class 6-top table.
Wequassett Resort & Golf Club

Located on MA-28 along the shores of Pleasant Bay, the world-class Wequassett Resort & Golf Club puts on quite a holiday display for both guests and the public each year. The holiday festivities will kick off on Friday of the first weekend of December, with the annual Tree Lighting ceremony, dedicated to the recipients of the resort's Community Impact Fund. On that Saturday, the annual Merry Market will open for visitors and guests to peruse local artist booths in search of unique gifts, plus live music at the property's Oyster Bar. The Red River food truck and Hog Island will both be on site for delectable eats and local brews. The night will end with a spectacular fireworks display over Pleasant Bay!
The festivities continue throughout the month of December with Mrs. Claus' Cottage, which offers workshops like wreath-making and a chunky blanket class. Plus, there's the Gingerbread House Party, where families can get creative and build their own gingerbread houses, and a Jingle Jammie Brunch. Check out the Cottage schedule on the Wequassett Resort website.
For an extra-festive stay, book the Mrs. Claus Touch Package, complete with a pre-lit Christmas tree set up in your room, a stocking filled with a sweet treat, or a package under the tree. The package also includes coffee and pastries for two, as well as a late checkout. This holiday adventure on Cape Cod is one the whole family can enjoy!
