Concord’s Colonial Inn has over 300 years of history under its belt. It was first erected in 1716 and initially used as a storehouse for provisions during the Revolutionary War.
Famous guests have included Henry David Thoreau, who stayed at the inn while he attended Harvard in the early 1800s. That’s about when the ghostly activity seems to have started.
Though the owners of the inn can’t say for sure that it is haunted, guests and staff seem to be convinced. Comment cards left at the inn describe everything from slamming doors, strange lights, moving furniture, and spooky sounds.
In fact, the property has even been featured on programs such as "Ghost Hunters" and has been investigated by numerous paranormal organizations.
