Campsites might feel like a dime a dozen in Maine, but when you consider some of the more unique options a night under the stars can feel a little more special. We've given you glamping yurts, a private cabin on your own island and even beachside camping options. But, nothing is quite like this campsite currently offering a vintage airstream trailer for a night under the (sort of) stars!
Chewonki Campground in Wiscasset is located on about 50 acres along the gorgeous coast of Maine.
Perfect for families, there are 47 different sites, overlooking the perfect, saltwater of Maine.
Guests have access to fishing and kayak rentals.
Each campsite is spacious and the entire grounds are located on the water, but there's also plenty of fun to be had on the tennis court and in the pool!
And, it's dog friendly!
But, this summer something special is available.
It's "Nimbus," the 1967 Caravel trailer on loan from Vintage Maine Vacations!
Nimbus is fully equipped with a sink and gas stove top, fridge with mini freezer, a hot water heater for colder nights and even a bath tub.
The sleeping area features a full pull out bed that comfortably sleeps two people.
And, there's a dinette that converts to a single bed.
If camping isn't your thing, you can always rent Nimbus for special events - it travels to you!
But, we recommend you book it for a night under the moon for a truly unique experience.
Chewonki Campground is located at 235 Chewonki Neck Road in Wiscasset. You can reach them on (207) 882-7426. For more information on Chewonki click here. Or, click here for more information on Vintage Maine Vacation.
