You’ll Find A Luxury Glampground At Sam Houston Jones State Park In Louisiana, It’s Ideal For Winter Snuggles And Relaxation

Sam Houston Jones is undoubtedly one of my favorite state parks in Louisiana. Hurricane Laura did a number on this beloved park in 2020 but thanks to the efforts of many, the park is back to its former glory days...some might even say it’s better than ever! Now that the weather has cooled down, it’s the perfect spot to go glamping in Louisiana.

Glamping is a relatively new hybrid style of camping that combines the best parts of primitive tent camping with cabins for a one-of-a-kind experience.

Tentrr is a company that has placed glamping tents in several locations all over the country, including nine state parks in Louisiana.

These safari-style tents are perfect for a couple.

Each campsite comes with a pert-set canvas tent that’s on its own wooden deck platform, raised from the ground. Inside, you’ll find a queen-sized bed with a memory foam mattress, side tables, and a propane tent heater.

Outside of the tent, each campsite has a picnic table, a fire pit with a grill, a solar shower, and a portable camping toilet.

The park’s restroom facilities are never too far away, and guests are always welcome to use the park’s facilities instead.

Imagine waking up to views like this.

Pure perfection, right?

Within the park’s 1,087 acres, you’ll find roughly 10 miles of hiking trails to explore.

The trails have all been recently done and are in great condition.

You never know what wildlife you'll spot while you're here.

You probably won't spot many alligators in the winter, but it's always a Disney-like experience when you wake up and a deer is grazing outside of your campsite!

Typically, I’d suggest you spend your evenings sitting by a campfire, but you’ll want to check the status of the statewide burn ban first.

Louisiana hasn’t had the annual rainfall that we normally see, and as of November 2023, there is a statewide burn ban in effect.
