When it comes to summer fun, nothing beats one of the best amusement parks in Indiana. Featuring rides and overnight accommodations, this awesome place definitely belongs on your bucket list. There's a little something here for everyone, so don't be shy about bringing the whole family. You may have seen campgrounds with splash pads, but wait till you get a load of this... Come along and see why we think it's one of the best campgrounds with water parks in The Hoosier State.
First of all, let's talk about those accommodations.
Guests can stay in Monticello at the IB Crow Campground and choose to camp in a tent, RV, or cabin. By staying here, you'll be close to all the action and enjoy extra amenities.
The campground has three playgrounds, swimming pools, mini golf, games, a bakery, laundry, and more.
Guests also enjoy access to Lake Shafer where boating is allowed.
The main feature of this waterpark campground is the amusement park. Located about 30 miles north of Lafayette, this is the state's premier summer vacation spot.
This excellent park has a long, fascinating history. In short, it began as Ideal Beach in 1926 when it was just a beach and bathhouse. The first rides were added in 1947, and in 1950, the name was changed to Indiana Beach. Throughout the 1990s, many of the water attractions were added. Learn more by checking out the park's website, which is listed below.
As far as water activities go, guests enjoy six water slides, a lazy river, a splash pad, a water roller coaster, and a unique swimming area with sand to represent the beach. All-in-all you will find over 50 rides and attractions!
Additional water-themed activities include bumper boats and a paddle-wheel riverboat. If you're looking for campgrounds with pools near you, this is definitely the place!
As for the rest of the park, there are roller coasters, a Ferris wheel, bumper cars...
...a haunted castle, a carousel, and many other high-flying attractions that will make your heart go "boom."
Of course, there are also many places to eat. In addition to sweets from The Sugar Shack, patrons enjoy burgers, hot dogs, pizza, tacos, ice cream, and much more here.
There are also many places to shop for gifts and souvenirs, as well as coffee shops and more upscale dining options.
The Indiana Beach Amusement & Water Park Resort is located at 5224 E Indiana Beach Rd., Monticello, IN 47960, and it is generally open from the first weekend in May until the end of the long Labor Day weekend. Prices vary according to your choice of accommodation, so for the most updated pricing and other information, be sure to check the official Indiana Beach website as well as the entity's Indiana Beach Amusement & Water Park Resort Facebook page.
