Miami State Recreation Area is situated right up on the shores of Mississinewa Lake near the little town of Peru, Indiana.

It's a beautiful little slice of paradise that many people immediately fall in love with and never want to leave.

And should you spend the night, you'll find that sunset and sunrise are easily the best times of day around here - when everything is chilled and quiet, and the golden light of the sun tickling the park's features adds to the wonder of it all.

Luckily for us, friends, Mississinewa Lake Campground has more than 400 awesome campsites to pick from - many of which are right up on the water.

Camping is available all year round, though most facilities like the pool and other amenities open fully by May 15th.

The beach is open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, and I promise it's worth visiting! It's truly a hidden gem.

Well, hidden to those who don't know it's here, anyway.

It IS quite a popular campground alongside a popular reservoir, so be ready to make all kinds of new friends with other campers here if you'd like to!
