The River House Bed & Breakfast in central Illinois was originally built in 1890 and sits right on the Illinois River in a moderate-sized, historic river city.
The home sits high up on a bluff overlooking both the Illinois and Fox rivers and is built in the Queen Anne Victorian style.
There are six private rooms to choose from, each with its own unique appearance and amenities. Some have queen beds while others have king beds while still others have multiple beds.
Room rates run between $50 and $120 per night for a single room, but guests can also pay $450 per night and rent this entire vintage bed & breakfast.
In addition to the bedrooms, there are also several common rooms in the house, the most important of which is the dining room where breakfast is served. There is also a parlor, saloon, and front porch.
Each morning, a homemade breakfast is made available to patrons of the inn. Fresh egg dishes, meats, breads, and sweets, as well as coffees, teas, and juices are often on the menu.
Once you've had your hearty morning meal, you'll be ready to head out to all the nearby attractions like state parks, golf clubs, historic tours, wineries, activities on the rivers, and much more.
