One of my favorite trips with my now late father-in-law was to Dahlonega, Georgia. It was just a short drive from his home, but it was the first time he’d ever been. Downtown is quaint and walkable, with shops and restaurants that invite exploration without the pushy tourist energy you sometimes get in more crowded towns. People here are warm, genuine, and somehow manage to make friendly eye contact feel revolutionary.
