Madison is one of our favorite small towns in Georgia, and it's within about 45 minutes from the farmhouse Vrbo. It's got everything you need for a great excursion: shopping, restaurants, natural beauty, and a unique small-town charm.
Another great smaller city to visit for an afternoon is Monroe. It's filled with great antique shops and is actually considered the antique capital of Georgia. It's also got a quaint Main Street area and plenty of murals to check out.
It's extremely close to the farmhouse, making it a great option for a few hours away.
Want to check out a larger city? Athens is a great mid-sized city. It's not too big, but the University of Georgia ensures it has excellent museums, dining options, and attractions.
Athens is within a half hour or so drive of the farmhouse making it another great option for a day trip.
