In 1910 the population of Miami was around 5,000 residents, but quickly skyrocketed to over 30,000 people who found out about this hidden gem and the warm, tropical climate.
The 1930s brought about a wave of design and art culture, which began shaping what the city was all about—after all, the nickname for Miami soon became "The Magic City".
Yet in 1953, architect Robert Swartburg had a vision for a motel/restaurant/lounge that encompassed all the Miami was—called The Vagabond.
It was rumored that back in the day, guests to The Vagabond included Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr. and the rest of the Rat Pack.
Showcasing the timeless Corvettes peppering the parking lot, the tropical ambiance, and the cold poolside drinks, The Vagabond was the place to see and be seen.
Fast-forward a few decades and this retro-luxe property has been reopened, while with modern amenities, still paying homage to the authentic touches and details which made this place such a gem long ago.
Today, guests can enjoy everything that once was about The Vagabond Motel, but so much more.
Take a dip and cool off in the spectacular pool, and then grab a fresh cocktail at the daytime oasis known as the Vagabond Pool Bar.
Each room is decorated in a vintage, retro art-deco style that combines new and old in the most timeless way.
