These 5 Treehouses In Northern California Will Give You An Unforgettable Experience
Explore unique treehouse dining and lodging experiences in Northern California that evoke childhood memories.
Do you remember when you were a little kid and discovered a treehouse? If you didn't have one in your backyard you wanted one. And, if you had one the first thing you wanted to do was to sleep in it. What is it about being up in a tree that reminds us all of childhood?
There's a few of us in Northern California who know exactly where to go to relive our growing-up years. And, a few of these places make you feel like you're a thousand feet in the clouds. Come and enjoy a meal at a few of these spots - some will even let you spend the night.
1. The Redwood Treehouse, Vaca Del Sol Rd., Corralitos
Tucked high in the sky in the Santa Cruz mountains is this little gem. Lots of great reviews on Yelp, but I had difficulty finding their website. Apparently, they're pretty popular on air bnb. Stay one night or a dozen. The sky's the limit...pa dum bum.
2. Shadowbrook Restaurant , 1750 Wharf Rd., Capitola
Take an adorable trolley car up to the restaurant. Shadowbrook has numerous levels. It's an elegant place that's known for its fine dining and tree house-like views. Pay attention around you - there are LOTS of wedding proposals here.
3. Redwood Treehouse, Redwood Drive, Healdsburg
Only three miles from historic downtown Healdsburg, this treehouse is right on the Russian River. Bring a kayak or just have your coffee on the beach - you'll love it here.
4. Bella Luna Mountain Retreat, 333 Moon Mountain Rd, Santa Rosa
From the revews this place is pretty amazing. We sure wish they'd had their own website so we could've posted a few more photos for ya.
5. The Tree House Cafe, Carmel
Two friends had a glass of wine and decided to open this restaurant. It's become a favorite in Carmel. This dish is one of many to tempt your tastebuds. Garlic prawns on a bed of homemade pasta in a light caper sauce - yum!
Whether you're sleeping inside your tree house or eating perched high above the ground, there is always something special about lingering for just a little bit in a tree.
