Sycamore Canyon Campground, a 13,300-acre park bordered by Sycamore and Oak trees impresses with 70 miles of hiking trails, aesthetic beaches, and pebbly peaks. It’s open year-round and features 58 campsites for tents and vehicles of 31 feet or less.
The campsites accommodate a maximum of eight guests, including children, and two vehicles—one driven, one towed. There’s a fee per night for additional vehicles. Access is via a reservation system, up to six months in advance of the arrival date.
While there are no hookups, each campsite has a large picnic table and fire ring. Sycamore Canyon Campground also offers various amenities, including a nature center, camp store, potable water, flush toilets, hot showers, campfire center, and an RV dump station.
For swimming, wading, sunbathing, and surfing, visit the local beaches along the coast. The campground is closest to Sycamore Cove Beach, which is only three minutes away on foot. From surf fishing to kayaking, the water is yours to explore.
The campground sits at the opening of Big Sycamore Canyon, giving you a convenient start to the various hiking, biking, and equestrian trails on the premises. If you’re on a family camping trip, the kids can participate in the Junior Rangers program.
Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed on the park trails. They must be leashed on the campground and kept in tents, trailers, or RVs at night. If you have any questions or concerns while on the grounds, feel free to speak to the campground host.
