Oak Hollow Farm and Sanctuary in Oak Glen, CA, offers a unique countryside retreat with glamping options and an animal sanctuary.
There's a lot to love about the quaint, mile-high town of Oak Glen, CA. Here, sweet-smelling apple orchards and charming white picket fences dot the rich landscape, which sits nestled in a sun-kissed valley beneath the San Bernardino mountains.
While many folks pay a visit to this small town in the fall to get a glimpse of the vibrant colors and load up on apples at the local festival, there's also a little something extra tucked away for year-round travelers: Oak Hollow Farm, a beautiful countryside getaway that's perfect for those craving a quiet escape from the city.
But the best part about this unique slice of SoCal heaven isn't just its gorgeous valley setting. It's also an animal sanctuary! In fact, visitors to this darling retreat not only get to interact with the farm's fluffiest residents during the day, but they can also literally camp out (or glamp-out!) alongside the alpacas, mini goats, sheep, and other farm animals by night. Check it out!
Please note, Oak Hollow Farm is no longer in business.
Welcome to one of the most picture-perfect retreats you've ever seen! This is Oak Hollow Farm and Sanctuary in Oak Glen, CA.
Oak Hollow got its start over a decade ago, settling upon what used to be a potato patch. Since then, it has grown to become a local favorite.
Surrounded by the sounds of nature, lush, rolling pastures, and panoramic views of the mountains on every side, this gorgeous farm is already the perfect place to get away from it all.
Here, you can pitch a tent and camp under the trees, glamp in the farm's adorable gypsy wagon, sleep in a treehouse, or even have a traditional B&B experience at the main house.
Of course, their sweet little gypsy wagon is a visitor favorite. This rustic abode is nestled in its own shaded nook with a private garden path, fire pit, and many of the creature comforts of home.
But what makes this oasis truly magical is the animals, of course!
The owners of Oak Hollow started out with just a few household pets, but over the years have taken in countless rescue animals, particularly those whose owners could no longer care for them.
Llamas, alpacas, goats, sheep, horses, peacocks, geese, and even donkeys have all found homes here over the years, in addition to more traditional household pets.
And they're definitely the friendliest bunch you've ever seen!
Guests at Oak Hollow are encouraged to spend plenty of time with the animals. And how can you say no to these adorable faces?
You can even take the llamas for a walk to the nearby nature conservancy!
Guests must be accompanied by an owner to go inside animal enclosures or take the animals out, however.
You can easily spend your entire stay at Oak Hollow just enjoying the natural beauty and getting to know the quirky personalities of every animal. Or, you can learn about spinning wool and fleece the old-fashioned way.
You can also purchase handmade gifts, soaps, and more from the gift shop. In fact, this cozy farm even grows its own organic produce, raises chickens for fresh eggs, and offers fresh goat milk when available. Everything here is courtesy of Oak Hollow's most lovable residents!
Oak Hollow is often called a "zen farm," and for good reason.
Not only do all the animals all get along with one another, but you'll find yourself relaxing and de-stressing as well, thanks to the quiet ambiance of the countryside.
Of course, the holidays around here get pretty festive.
Special events also take place throughout the year, including the annual "Sheep Shearing and Open Farm."
Photo-worthy results are priceless!
If you time your visit just right, you might get to meet a baby goat or llama!
Although every animal here will melt your heart, regardless of age.
