Living in Wisconsin is pretty awesome but, like almost anywhere, there are some risks to compensate for the awesomeness. Here are the biggest risks you face when living in Wisconsin, though we must remind you that these aren't a guarantee. Some folks live their entire lives here and never see a natural disaster (or any disasters, for that matter). Overall, it's a lovely place to be - but sometimes, it can get a little hairy. Check it out:
1. Tornadoes. Not gonna lie, these are terrifying.
Fortunately, if you have a basement, you'll probably be fine.
2. Wisconsin has the most drunk drivers in the country.
That's not good news if you're out driving when the bars are closing. Stay vigilant and avoid the roads at night when you can.
3. Getting snowed in.
Yes, snow is a part of life in Wisconsin. If you have enough food and water (and a shovel--that's key), you should be just fine.
4. Obesity. We love butter--on everything. We have the best burgers and ice cream in the world. Staving off the pounds can be tough, but is doable!
5. Pollution.
Our factories provide a large portion of our economic success. Unfortunately, pollution is a byproduct, affecting both the air and the water.
6. Driving through Kaukauna.
If you've ever done it, you know exactly what we're talking about. If you don't, well, give it a try. We dare you.
7. The biggest risk is moving away, because once you've lived in Wisconsin, nothing in another state is quite the same.
Okay, maybe that one shouldn't count, but this article is just for fun, and come on - the idea of ever leaving is a pretty sad one!
Hopefully this doesn't scare you away from our great state! We promise that other than these less-than-desirable things, it's still a lovely place to live. What do you think of our list?
