The new year is fast approaching, which means big life changes are on the horizon for lots of Texans. If you're looking to make a big move, safety of the city is one of the top concerns you look at before coming to a final decision. We're thrilled to report that, according to The Economist's Safe Cities Index, Dallas is the 26th safest city in the entire world — only a handful of American cities made the list, so that's a big deal!
It ranks 10th in digital security, which means it has better means of handling cyber threats than most places in the world. From attacks on city computers to the entire power grid, Dallas is extremely well protected from such malicious activity.
Although not cracking the top 10 in health security, making the overall list means health services are still more than adequate. In this category, healthcare itself, as well as emergency personnel, hospitals, and even green spaces and traffic management methods are taken into consideration.
The United States tends to be fairly weak in terms of infrastructure, but Dallas is still one of your best bets. You can rest assured that the buildings, roads, and bridges are more sound than elsewhere in the country.
Dallas isn't in the top 10 for personal security, but it isn't in the bottom 10 either. And being in the top half of the overall list means that your probability of falling victim to a terrorist attack is incredibly slim.
Residents of the city should feel extremely at ease after this. If you're looking to make a big move in 2018, maybe Dallas should be one of the places you consider!
