12 Things Everyone Who’s Moved Away From Tennessee Has Thought At Least Once

There are many reasons why folks leave Tennessee, but we're not too sure of them. Whether you're following a dream or a job, this beautiful state is one that will stay deep, deep in your heart. If you're one of the unlucky few that have had to leave, you may find yourself thinking one of these twelve things...over and over and over again.

12. Why are people driving in the snow?

If you move up north then you're probably wondering why the world doesn't shut down in the snow. Well, they probably have a couple more snow plows than we do - so good luck out there!

11. Wait. I have to pay state income tax?

That's a painful one…we're lucky down here in Tennessee.

10. I can't talk on my phone while driving?

There are multiple states that don't allow the usage of a cell phone, so you may find yourself very surprised and very solidly ticketed.

9. Stores are open on Sundays?

If you leave the Bible Belt, this is much more common. Shop away, friends! Shop away.

8. I can buy alcohol on a Sunday?

That being said, you most likely CAN buy alcohol whenever you would like to in another state. Some have restrictions on the actual time of day you can buy, but it is still allowed.

7. Where are my Great Smoky Mountains?

Unless you move to North Carolina, you'll most solidly miss this gorgeous national park.

6. Macaroni and cheese isn't considered a vegetable?

Not really. How weird is that?! We'd vote it into the veggie spot on the food pyramid if they'd let us.

5. You'll have to apply for a carry permit transfer - yes.

Depending on the state, this could be either extremely easy or wildly difficult. (We're looking at you, California)

4. Will anyone serve up a meat & three as good as mama?

Never.

3. Why are people taking their right of way?

Ouch. Yeah, people are doing that because they SHOULD take their right of way. It's only in Tennessee that folks are overly kind on the road.

2. Will I ever have great hot chicken again?

You're probably a lot further from Nashville now, and the farther you get the less spicy the chicken. We wish the best to you searchers, though.

1. WHY DID I LEAVE?

We don't know, friends. We don't know why you left the great food and the good people and the stunning countryside. You're welcome back anytime you wish, though.

Here are some reasons Tennessee REALLY stands out from the rest - just a warning. You're going to laugh.
