9 Reasons Why South Dakota Is The Most Patriotic State In The Country
While small in population, we are mighty in pride. There are many reasons that lead us to believe the most patriotic state is South Dakota. This list is just nine of those reasons, and we know there are so many more.
1. We proudly display American flags anywhere and everywhere we can. From the back of our motorcycles to in front of our houses, it's clear we love our country.
2. We support our troops and veterans. Back in 2013, South Dakota had 3,417 active military troops. We are thankful for every single one.
3. We honor those who gave their lives for our country. On Memorial Day and every day, we remember those who fought to preserve the country we live in.
4. We're the Mount Rushmore state! It doesn't get more patriotic than four presidents' heads carved into a mountain.
5. Though our views vary across the state, all South Dakotans are willing to stand up for what we believe in to make our country great.
6. South Dakota is the actual geographical center of the United States. What's more patriotic than being the literal center of America?!
7. We have down home American values like hard work. Plus, we know that farming to feed our country is the hardest and most important work there is.
8. South Dakota is full of so much history, from the Battle of Little Bighorn (aka Custer's Last Stand) to the Gold Rush.
9. We are home to Ellsworth Air Force Base. Need we say more?
These are just a few reasons we know SD has so much US pride. Why do you think South Dakota is the most patriotic state?
