1. UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh

UPMC Shadyside is rated the top hospital in Pennsylvania. 73% of patients surveyed said that they would recommend this hospital to others.

2. Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia

The top rated hospital in Philadelphia has 784 beds. In the most recent year reported, it had 64,423 emergency room visits.

3. Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia

Thomas Jefferson University Hospital has a high rate of patient satisfaction; 78% of those surveyed said they would recommend this hospital to others.

4. Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey

This 475-bed hospital is ranked nationally in 8 pediatric specialties.

5. Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown

Lehigh Valley Hospital is a highly rated hospital in the third largest city in Pennsylvania, Allentown. The next two best hospitals in Allentown are Sacred Heart Hospital and Surgical Specialty Center At Coordinated Health.

6. Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia

70% of patients who were treated at Hahnemann University Hospital said that they would recommend this hospital to others.

7. Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, Pittsburgh

UPMC is one of the best networks of hospitals in the country. The uniquely designed Children's Hospital has 296 beds and is ranked nationally in 10 pediatric specialties.

8. Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Philadelphia

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia is the fourth highest ranked hospital in the city.

9. Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster

78% of patients who were treated at Lancaster General Hospital said they would recommend it to others. It has 613 beds and last year performed 13,801 inpatient and 17,048 outpatient surgeries.

10. Main Line Hospital Lankenau, Wynnewood

81% of patients who were treated here said they would recommend the hospital to a friend.
