14 Things Every True Ohioan Does At Least Once Before They Die

There are some things that unite us all as Ohioans.

Maybe it's the way we take photos (no matter where we are.) Maybe it's our world renowned attractions we proudly claim. Maybe it's the festive necklaces only those of us who live in the Buckeye State can make. Whatever it is, it helps us know who's a true Ohioan when we see it. Here are 14 things every true Ohioan does at least once before they die:

1. Take a group vacation photo like this:

Bonus points if you can get a famous landmark to serve as one of the letters.

2. Visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

We're home to the Birthplace of Rock and Roll. Come on. It doesn't get any cooler than that.

3. Vacation at Put-In-Bay.

If you've yet to do this, change that this summer.

4. Make (and wear) one of these:

It doesn't even have to be football season. We'll wear them year-round. We're that proud.

5. Also, make (and eat) these:

This one is pretty self-explanatory.

6. Pay a visit to the "A Christmas Story" house.

If you've never done this, can you really say you're from Ohio?

7. Have a beach day at Lake Erie.

It's the closest we'll ever get to an ocean here, but we're grateful for what we have.

8. Take in the gorgeous rolling hills of Ohio Amish Country.

You'd be a fool not to.

9. Yell "O-H"...

...in full anticipation of an "I-O" reply.

10. Try your best to ride every roller coaster at Cedar Point in one visit.

It's the Roller Coaster Capital of the World. What else do you expect us to do with that?

11. Tour the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

You don't even have to be an NFL fan. You just have to have an Ohio-shaped heart.

12. Visit what's arguably America's scariest prison (and made it out alive).

OK, so maybe not ALL of us are brave enough to tour the Ohio State Reformatory...

13. Photograph a covered bridge along a country road...

We can't help it. They're just so heartwarming.

14. ...and a Bicentennial Barn or two.

All throughout the state, these beautiful barns give our state a unique stamp on America the Beautiful.
