11 Complaints About Life In Ohio That Only Locals Understand
Ohio isn't perfect.
In spite of our hidden gems, world renown attractions and amazing local restaurants, life here isn't always perfect. The Buckeye State has its fair share of frustrations and unexpected struggles that make every day life here interesting. The following are 11 complaints about life in Ohio that only locals understand.
1. There are no designated seasons here.
It can snow in April. Fall temperatures often reach 90 degrees. And you never really know when it will rain.
2. Consequently, you often use the heat and AC in the same day.
Even our units are confused.
3. You shouldn't put your patio furniture out until mid-May.
You know, just to be safe.
4. Some people just don't know how to drive in the snow...
...and it really hinders the rest of us who can.
5. You can NEVER leave home without a snow-brush and ice-scraper.
It. Does. Not. Matter. If. It's. April.
6. We will never escape the construction.
Ever. Stop wondering when that highway stretch of orange barrels will end. It won’t.
7. Our pothole situation is out of control.
If you make it out of one massive pothole alive, you’ll just hit another one. Don't feel so accomplished.
8. Consequently, we have to balance and rotate our tires more often than the average U.S. citizen.
It’s a necessary way of life here in Ohio and there's no way of getting around it. (Or the potholes. HA.)
9. Only when you're pressed for time do you pull out onto the road behind an Amish buggy.
(But we love our Amish Country, nonetheless.)
10. Rural scenery really IS underrated and people who hate on it are annoying.
Honestly, what's not to love?
11. When you yell "O-H!" and get no reply.
Where is the love?
How many of these can you relate to? What others would you add to the list? Let us know!
