The Last World War II Destroyer Escort Is Floating Here In New York’s Capital

Laid down in 1943, since its original creation the historic ship has undergone major restoration throughout time to preserve this fascinating piece of history.

Looking as stunning as ever today, now people can take tours of the ship between the months of April and October.

Taking you through tight spaces and up staircases, on these tours, you'll get to learn all about the history behind this one vessel.

Each tour of the USS Slater lasts about 90-minutes, an outing you'll want to be sure you're in comfortable clothes and shoes for.

As you explore the ship you'll get to see everything from nostalgic newspapers and signage...

With the ship open for tours between Wednesday and Sunday each week from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the USS Slater makes for both an intriguing weekday or weekend adventure.
