10 Undeniable Things You’ll Find In Every Minnesota Home

Common household items in Minnesota reflect the state's unique culture and lifestyle.

When you think about a typical home for those of us living in Minnesota, what comes to mind? While it may be tricky to generalize our state into a few decor pieces or possessions, I think most of us can agree we all have a few innately "Minnesotan" things in our houses. How many of these things do you have?

1. The perfect pan for hotdish.

2. A snow shoveling device. So you don't get stuck...obviously.

3. The Minnesota spice kit. Salt, pepper & ketchup.

4. An optimistically worded wall sign about home or lake life.

5. Something from Target. A gift card, a bag... something.

6. A fishing pole. This is the land of 10,000 lakes after all.

7. A down jacket. Preferably with a cat. Does that not make your heart melt?

8. Something with camo. Clothing, accessory, even furniture is fair game. There is probably something...even a small band-aid.

9. A pair of ugly yet very functional winter boots. Not everything about living in Minnesota's snow is glamorous.

10. A painting or photo of Minnesota, most likely of a lake.

Did we hit a few points there? There are obviously many things that can make your home "Minnesotan" in its own unique way, but we might just have a few things in common.
