We are lucky to call Louisiana home. It's such a unique state, from the music and the food to the people, you don't really realize how great it is until you leave it. There's a lot of things that living in Louisiana will change about you, and you may not realize it until you move somewhere else. Here are 13 ways you know living in Louisiana has changed your life:
1. You’re laid back.
Things just move a bit slower down here.
2. You know how to cook.
You probably have a recipe for jambalaya, gumbo and étouffée. And you know which pot you cook each of the dishes in. And the recipes are more than likely family recipes.
3. You don’t think twice when someone tells you to suck the heads.
It’s where all the flavor is!
4. And no one cringes when you hear "don’t eat the dead ones."
It’s not what you think.
5. You’re a river rat.
With so many bayous, lakes and rivers, you most likely spent your childhood around a body of water.
6. You love the outdoors.
With views like this, what’s not to love?
7. You don’t think twice when something ends in "eaux."
And you can pronounce it with no problem.
