Here Are 13 Things You’ll Never Catch Anyone From Kansas City Doing

Kansas Citians have unique local customs and pride, especially in their BBQ, sports teams, and craft beer.

If you ask an out-of-towner what they think of when they hear the name "Kansas City," you've got a good chance they mention your location between the two states, or The Wizard of Oz (for some inexplicable reason). However, they'll soon find out that we're a city full of pride for our businesses and sports teams. There's just some things you'll never catch Kansas Citians doing, but it's all in good fun. Do you know of any others?

1. Insulting our BBQ style.

There's no possible way that Memphis or Texas barbecue is better than ours, and you know it.

2. Ignoring someone in need.

Whether it's a flat tire or a dead battery, one of us will be sure to make sure you're alright.

3. Complain about the weather.

We have a lot of weather fluctuation in short periods of time, so it's not too upsetting to hear about sudden rain or a little snow.

4. Making Wizard of Oz references.

Don't even think about it.

5. Snub your nose at craft beer.

This is a great city for craft beers, and odds are you'll like them better than any other national brand, hands down.

6. Saying that the Chiefs...

7. ...or the Royals...

8. ...or Sporting KC aren't worth getting worked up about.

They're all great teams, and we support them through wins and losses.

9. Complaining about boredom.

There's so much to do every weekend, from trying a new restaurant to attending an event downtown.

10. Staying inside all year.

There's not much that can keep a Kansas Citian away from a home game, especially the weather. You'll even see people hanging out downtown when it's pouring out.

11. Actually going to your basement when the news tells you to.

Odds are it's a great time for photos, and you won't even feel the main force of it anyways. Everyone's got a little storm chaser in them somewhere!

12. Skip St. Patrick's day.

There's no way you can't be roped into joining the celebration, even if it's just a cup of green beer.

13. Pass on taking a picture of that sunset.

Kansas City sunsets are stunning, and you'll regret not snapping that picture when you had the chance.
