Georgia is filled with all different types of capitols. Besides Atlanta being the primary for the state, Dalton is the Carpet Capitol of the world, Cordele is the Watermelon Capitol of the world, Brunswick is the Shrimp Capitol of the world and Elberton is know as the Granite Capitol of the World.

Dahlonega

This high-running ridge between Marietta and Kennesaw is part of the Appalachian chain, and has a summit elevation of more than 1,800 ft. It's perfect for camping, hiking and the like.

Georgia is home to a variety of reptiles and amphibians, some of which include snakes, tortoises, lizards, sea turtles, and frogs.

If you haven't tried Georgian Southern food yet, then what the heck are you waiting for? Shrimp and grits litter this state, and you need to try them all in order to declare a favorite of your own.

Tallulah Gorge

One of the most majectic spots in Georgia, Tallulah falls allows visitors to swim in the springs, kayak down the river, cross the suspension bridge, and hike the trails which lead to their flowing waterfalls.

Universities

Georgia has a ton of universities and colleges that kids from all over the country clamor to attend. Like the University of Georgia, which was one of the first state universities in the country to receive a charter.

Varsity

The Varsity is THE world's largest drive-in restaurant. It's been around for years, and the best place to grab a chili dog, rings, or mouthwatering cheeseburger.

Waterfalls

Georgia truly does have some spectacular waterfalls, especially in the northern part of the state. Like Amicalola Falls, the tallest falls east of the Rocky Mountains.

Xcellent Hospitality

OK, this was a stretch, but come on...the letter X is hard! However, it is true. Southern hospitality in Georgia cannot be rivaled. Some of the sweetest, kindest, most compassionate people live here—all of whom are always willing to lend a hand.

Your Neighborhood Girl Scouts

Did you know that the GirlScouts of America was founded in Georgia? That's right, in 1912, Juliett Lowe founded this wonderful club in Savannah. I will forever be grateful for samoas and thin mints.

Zoo

The major zoo in Georgia is the Atlanta Zoo, home to more than 250 species of animals from all over the globe. Take a trip and say hi to the giant pandas for us.
