Whenever you move to or visit a new place, it takes a little time to adapt - and Colorado is no exception. Are you a native and have no idea what I am talking about? Or maybe you are visiting for the first time and aren't sure what to expect? Either way, here are the 11 most difficult things for out-of-towners to get used to living in Colorado:
Wondering what it’s life in Colorado is like? 90 degrees and burning up? It sounds like a great day for boating! Freezing cold and snow? Time to hit the slope, folks! No matter the weather, there is no excuse to not be outside enjoying our amazing state.
In the summertime, our favorite thing to do is hop on the Mousetrap and head to LoDo to watch the Rox play... any questions?
Look, it isn't that difficult:
Toward the mountains = west
Away from the mountains = east
Signs for Denver/Fort Collins on I-25 = north
Signs for Colorado Springs/Pueblo on I-25 = south
So, if you're moving to Colorado, you better brush up on our directions.
It could be 60 degrees with a cloudless sky at noon and dangerously cold with blizzard conditions by midnight... welcome to Colorado! Don't like the cold? Just wait it out; we should be back up to at least 55 tomorrow. One of the funny things about living in Colorado!

What is living in Colorado like? Those of us from Colorado adapt to the higher elevation immediately because, well, we were born here and have never known differently. However, if you are visiting here from somewhere else, you may have a difficult time breathing, moving, and enjoying life… at least for a little while. Take it easy and give yourself some time to adapt.
Well, it is and it isn't. Technically, it is a grassland and was once a mining town, but now the area is considered more to be the town of Fairplay than the South Park that visitors might expect.
Is it well below freezing and blizzard conditions? This calls for some Bonnie Brae! I'll grab my flip-flops and we can walk there!
