As Cleveland natives, we can't help but love our city. It's romantic, friendly, and beautiful, making America's North Coast the perfect place to build a life. Cleveland is an impressive city, but something about its atmosphere can't quite be captured in words. Yet, they say a picture is worth a thousand words, so we're going to travel on a visual journey across the city. You are about to visit some of the most iconic landmarks in the CLE to learn a little bit about their story and how they tie into the story of us. You will find that Cleveland is a special place, and it's truly worth celebrating.

1. The West Side Market (1979 West 25th Street, Cleveland)

As the oldest operating marketplace in Cleveland, the West Side Market is a beloved and iconic location in the city. Tucked in the artsy neighborhood of Ohio City, this historic location has served as a market since 1840, with the current building dating back to 1912. It's a beloved attraction to both Clevelanders and visitors alike.

2. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (1100 East 9th Street, Cleveland)

Nestled against the stunning Lake Erie coastline is a highly unusual structure. Since it opened in '95, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has been a beloved, albeit unusual, addition to our skyline.

3. Edgewater Park (Lakefront Reservation, Cleveland)

4. Cleveland Museum of Art (11150 East Boulevard, Cleveland)

This iconic institution's sheer size is entrancing, but its beauty will knock your socks off. Located in University Circle, this stunning monument is nestled against the serene and picturesque Wade Lagoon. It offers free admission, giving locals an enlightened glimpse into art history.

5. Tower City (230 West Huron Road, Cleveland)

Once upon a time, this landmark was known as Cleveland Union Terminal. Its design is similar in execution to Grand Central Terminal, and for many years its stunning 52-story Terminal Tower held the title of tallest building on the continent outside of New York City. Since it officially opened its doors in 1930, Clevelanders have adored this iconic cluster of towers.

6. The Free Stamp (Willard Park, Cleveland)

Much to the chagrin of many locals, one of our most iconic structures is a giant rubber stamp. In fact, it's the largest rubber stamp in the world. Found at the intersection of East 9th Street and Lakeside Avenue, this amazing structure is perhaps the weirdest roadside attraction in the entire city.

7. The Cleveland Arcade (401 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland)

Since 1890, this awe-inspiring structure has been a beloved landmark. It is modeled after Milan's Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the oldest shopping mall in the world. Many consider it to be one of the oldest shopping malls in the United States, and its boutique experience has entranced generation after generation.

8. Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument (3 Public Square, Cleveland)

When the Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument was unveiled on July 4, 1894, the city was full of celebration. Music, a five-mile-long parade, and an address made by William McKinley kicked off the dedication festivities. However, throughout the planning process, many considered the monument to be controversial. It was regarded with such hostility that when the southeast corner of Public Square was proposed as its location, some city officials took the matter to court. Today, this amazing monument is as lovely as ever, thanks to a $2 million restoration that was completed in 2010.

9. The GE Chandelier (located at the intersection of Euclid and East 14th Street)

As the newest structure on our list, this unusual attraction delights locals and tourists alike. You are gazing upon the world's largest permanent outdoor chandelier, and it is located right here in the heart of Playhouse Square. It is an imposing 20 feet tall, dripping with 4,200 crystal specially designed to withstand the brutal Cleveland winters. This spectacular chandelier delights tourists and locals alike, offering an unusual sight to passerby, day or night.
