The Best Sight In The World Is Actually A Road Sign That Says Welcome To Alabama

If you've ever traveled out of state and spent many hours in the car on your return trip home, you know exactly how it feels the moment you see a "Welcome to Alabama the Beautiful" sign. Whenever you see one of these signs, which you'll find just about anywhere along the state's borders, you'll realize you're that much closer to home. There's something truly special about Alabama's welcome signs, whether it's one welcoming visitors to the state, or one welcoming them to one of our many cities and towns.

We all remember the "Welcome to Alabama the Beautiful" signs whenever we'd return home from an out-of-state vacation.

Sadly, these "Welcome to Alabama" signs have been replaced. However, we can all agree that Alabama is still a beautiful state.

Another thing that comes to mind whenever we see this Alabama road sign is the Hollywood film Sweet Home Alabama, which stars Reese Witherspoon.

It's just one of many movies filmed in Alabama. By the way, were you aware that Alabama has its very own Hollywood? It sure does, and this small town greets visitors with its very own welcome sign.

While driving through Alabama, you'll arrive in many small towns with the quirkiest of names.

Of course, we wouldn't know this without their welcome signs. You can't help but smile whenever you enter towns with names like Pine Apple...

... and Rainbow City.

Whenever you see the "Dauphin Island Welcome" sign, you'll know you've arrived at the southernmost point of Alabama.

Dauphin Island is a small barrier island off the coast and it is absolutely breathtaking.

But that's not all! Dauphin Island is also known as the "Sunset Capital of Alabama."

And as you can see, this small coastal town certainly lives up to its nickname.
