9 Gorgeous Lakes In Southern California That You Must Check Out This Summer
Summertime out on the lake is one of my all-time favorite experiences in Southern California and something I look forward to every year. Whether you love water skiing, camping, boating, kayaking, or fishing, there are plenty of lakes to choose from in SoCal that will keep you busy all summer long. Take a look at a few of my favorite spots to enjoy a summer day at the lake.

Silverwood Lake is a wonderful destination in the Inland Empire for a lakeside hike. There are also designated areas for boating, fishing and water skiing, so the lake is often buzzing with activity depending on the time of day.

This heavenly spot in the San Bernardino National Forest is a hidden gem that's not so hidden anymore. But even when the lake is crowded, it's a tranquil place to paddle around in the water as power boats are not allowed at Lake Gregory.

Lake Perris State Recreation Area is a busy spot in the summer where families gather for all sorts of water sports. If that's not your cup of tea, you can always take a snooze in a hammock.

If you don't have your own boat or kayak, there's no need to run out and buy one as there is a rental facility at the lake. If hiking is more your speed, there are five miles of trails to enjoy that offer lovely views of the water.

This gorgeous lake is located in the San Bernardino Mountains. If you're looking for a great spot for boating or water skiing, this is a great place to spend the day on the water.

Grab your fishing rod, as Diamond Valley Lake is a great spot to find a catch of the day.

An easy drive from Santa Clarita, this pleasant lake is a wonderful getaway from the hustle and bustle of LA.

Located in the Los Padres National Forest, this 60-acre recreational destination is a popular camping spot for lake enthusiasts. With over 240 campsites to choose from, the odds are pretty good that you will score a spot to call home for the night.

If you're looking for a great spot for trout fishing, Lake Cuyamaca is stocked with close to 40,000 pounds per year. So grab your fishing pole and hang up your "Gone Fishin'" sign and spend a day out at the lake.
Ready for a day of recreation out on the lake? Load up the kayaks, or dig out your fishing pole, and head out to one of these beautiful spots in Southern California. See you at the lake!
