This One-Of-A-Kind Festival In Rhode Island Is A Book Lover’s Dream Come True

A love of books usually sparks in childhood and often grows stronger and stronger as we get older. After all, there’s no better way to get lost in our imaginations than by meeting characters who tell stories we might never forget. That’s something worth celebrating. This one-of-a-kind festival in Rhode Island pays homage to children’s literature, and it promises a day jam-packed with fun (and good food!) for the whole family.

We Are All Readers, a one-day book festival, marks its second year on April 1, 2023, with a full day of fun planned. The second annual festival will take place at North Kingstown High School from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

While it’s a family-friendly event, you don’t have to have kids to attend. The day offers something for book lovers of all ages.
Nearly a dozen authors and illustrators will be on hand during the festival, including author Lisa Stringfellow, picture book author Danielle Greendeer, and graphic novelist Lee Durfey-Lavoie.

The day kicks off with picture book story time with attending authors and illustrators. While presentations are going on, there will also be all-day events, including activities and crafts for kids and author signings.

Kiddos who love graphic novels can pre-register for the hands-on comics workshop. Led by MJ Robinson, the workshop has limited space and begins at 11 a.m.

All that fun is sure to work up an appetite. Stop by Willie’s Place and Haven Brothers’ food trucks for a quick bite to eat. They’ll be on hand from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
