Sometimes, if you’re a carnivore, you’ve just gotta have a steak. Grilled just like you like it. Preferably in a rustic, cozy setting where you can sit back, relax, and savor every juicy bite. If you happen to live in, travel to, or pass through Wellsboro, you’ll want to stop at this rustic steakhouse in Pennsylvania that’s truly a carnivore’s dream come true.
The Steak House has been a mainstay in Wellsboro since 1957, founded and run by three generations of the Howey family over the years.
Focusing on dinner, the Steak House is currently led by Chris and Geoff Coffee, the third generation.
Sit down at one of the rustic tables that just might make you feel as though you're in the middle of the wilderness rather than in the enchanting small town of Wellsboro.
Kick off your meal with a drink from the bar, which features an assortment of wine, beer, and mixed drinks. Popular frozen drinks include the strawberry margarita, the grasshopper, and the pina colada.
Of course, a cold drink is merely a prelude to the delicious dinner that awaits. The popular steakhouse boasts a generous selection of appetizers - clam strips, fried oysters, and fried mushrooms among them.
Steak highlights the eclectic menu that also features salads, seafood, pastas, burgers, chicken, and turkey. A kid's menu is available.
Browse the collection of steaks available, such as New York strip, Delmonico, Porterhouse, and chopped steak. Some steaks are available in either eight ounces or 14 ounces.
Don't forget to check out the steak add-ons - garlic herb butter, sauteed onions, and blue cheese crumbles - to add an extra kick to your meal.
Save some room for a delectable dessert. Homemade pie (flavors vary daily), cheesecake, and ice cream are among the popular dessert dishes.
The Steak House in Wellsboro welcomes diners for dinner Monday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
