However, hiking is always the perfect go-to when we want to spend time outdoors, whether it’s the middle of a freezing cold winter or on a hot summer day. This loop trail in Pennsylvania, for example, offers the perfect opportunity to get outdoors and enjoy the scenery in all four seasons.

Next time you're in or near State College, make your way to the trailhead for Musser Gap Short Loop Trail, a scenic trail that's picture-perfect in all four seasons.

The picturesque trail spans 2.8 miles and, due to some steep inclines, earns a moderate rating from AllTrails. Be prepared for a bit of a workout.

You might want to consider bringing poles to help with the climb, especially during the winter.

The highlight of the trail is, arguably, the sensational, sweeping views from atop Frog Hollow. You definitely don't want to forget your camera.

No matter what season you hike in, you'll be treated to beautiful scenery. Fall offers jaw-dropping views of the foliage.

A fresh snowfall transforms the path into a winter wonderland. (Just be careful of icy spots as you travel along the trail.)
