Hidden among half of a million acres of Allegheny National Forest, Hearts Content National Scenic Trail offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy a bit of quiet among nature.
While the easy trail spans just over a mile, it does come with a few precautions. Heed the advice of the signs, and be on the lookout for falling trees and fallen limbs on the trail.
If the tranquility has totally relaxed you, you might want to spend the night in Hearts Content Recreation Area. Camping is seasonal, but you'll have the unique opportunity to sleep under a canopy of 140-foot-tall trees.
