This State Park In Pennsylvania Is So Little Known, You’ll Practically Have It All To Yourself
Every state park in Pennsylvania – all 121 of them – has its own personality, and we each probably have our favorites. Let’s face it, though. With the high number of state, local, and neighborhood parks, we’re likely to overlook a few. However, that just means we have more hidden gems to uncover – like this little-known Pennsylvania state park.
Caledonia State Park sits in a prime spot in Fayetteville, halfway between Gettysburg and Chambersburg. However, if you don't live in the area, you might not be familiar with this gem.
You can stay cool all summer long at the park's ADA-accessible pool. Sunbathe poolside, then glide into the crystal clear water on the waterslide. A snack bar also sells goodies.
You must pay an admission fee to use the pool. Non-resident visitors pay slightly more than residents.
If this is your first visit, save some time to explore one of the hiking trails. The Whispering Pine Nature Trail, the shortest of the trails, is rated easy and passes through the forest.
Watch the kiddos on the playground as you sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenery. If you're a golfer, play a round or two at the Caledonia Golf Club right by the park.
