This Portland cat cafe offers yoga with cats, meowvie nights, and wine tastings so you can get all the cuddles you need while socializing and enjoying the space. Focused on adopting the resident cats into homes in the area, this unique cafe allows you to visit with cats in a fun setting before making an adoption decision.

Purringtons is notable as the only cat cafe in America that serves beer, wine, and cider.

With an assortment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, the cafe is fun for everyone.

If you have allergies, don't count out this cafe.

In the cafe, you are separated from the cats by windows, allowing you to watch the action without actual cat contact.

Once you enter the lounge, you are able to interact with the cats and get to know their personalities.

While outside food and beverages are not permitted, you are able to bring purchased items into the lounge while you visit.

There are many furry friends waiting to visit and play.

The cafe typically houses 8 to 10 cats at any given time until they are adopted by visitors.

In the meantime, there is plenty to do at the cafe.

Activities abound at Purringtons, and there is not much like a yoga session surrounded by some lounging cat friends.

While children are allowed in the cafe at all times, their access is restricted in the lounge.

Children ages 6 and older are allowed until 4 pm. It is important, however, that children are accompanied by a responsible adult that will ensure they follow the rules of the lounge.

The end goal is to adopt the cats, but just spending time with them is fine too.

There is no pressure to adopt the cats, but instead just to meet and enjoy your time with the fuzzy group.

Whether you are a tried and true cat lover, or someone thinking about adopting a first cat, the cafe is a great place to start.

It's nice to get to know a cat in a friendly, social setting before diving into adoption, and this is just the place to make that a reality. The cats are all adopted through Cat Adoption Team, and they will guide you through the whole process of adoption if you find one that you form a bond with.

While reservations are not necessary, the limit in the lounge is 15 people, making them recommended to ensure you are able to get in. The cost to visit with the cats is $8 per hour.
