Tea rooms may seem like a thing of the past, but in Portland, they are alive and thriving. For a trip through some of the best tea houses around, check out these tea houses in Portland.

1. Behind The Museum Cafe
Situated just one block from the art museum, this aptly named teahouse and cafe serves up Japanese sencha and hojicha, along with a light menu of Japanese food. Behind the Museum Cafe is located at 1229 SW 10th Avenue.
2. Townshend's Tea Company
Choose from over 100 types of loose leaf tea, or try one of the nine kombuchas on tap and sold under the company's own label. Brew Dr. Townshend's Tea Company is located at 2223 NE Alberta Street.
3. Kiva Cafe & Spa
If you want your tea with a spa treatment, Kiva Cafe & Spa is the place to go. Featuring teas aimed at restoration and cleansing, as well as wide variety of black, green, and rare teas, this is a lovely spot to enjoy a rest. Kiva Cafe is located at 1533 NW 24th Avenue.
4. Tower of Cosmic Reflections
If you want the most authentic tea experience available in the city, you are going to want to head to the Tower of Cosmic Reflections in the Lan Su Chinese Garden. You do have to pay admission to the garden to access the teahouse, but you will have a wonderful view of the picturesque gardens while you sip your tea. Tower of Cosmic Reflections is located at 239 NW Everett Street.
5. Red Robe Tea House & Cafe
Located in the heart of Old Town Chinatown, this Chinese tea house features a large selection of flower teas, oolongs, greens, and blacks, served up alongside hot pots and pastries. Red Robe Tea House & Cafe is located at 310 NW Davis St. Suite A.
6. Tea Bar
The Tea Bar is a beautiful tea room that looks nothing like a tea room of the past, but that takes nothing away from its appeal. Cold and hot teas of all varieties are served here, including those flavored with lavender, matcha, and cinnamon. The Tea Bar is located at 1615 NE Killingsworth Street.
7. Jasmine Pearl Tea Company
Not only can you get a wonderful tea latte at Jasmine Pearl, but you can also buy some lovely tea making accessories while there. Jasmine Pearl Tea Company is located at 724 NE 22nd Avenue.
8. Tea Chai Té
Serving a mix of local and organic blends, along with yerba mate, this shop is perhaps most renowned for its appearances on Portlandia.Tea Chai Té is located 734 NW 23rd Avenue.
9. Smith Teamaker
Choose from a tea flight or a ceremonial matcha at this renowned northwest tea institution. The new tasting room in SE is particularly lovely with a bar, fireplace, and view into the onsite tea production facility. Smith Teamaker NW is located at 1626 NW Thurman Street and Smith Teamaker SE is located at 110 SE Washington Street.
10. Tao of Tea
In business since 1997, the Tao of Tea is a must-visit tea shop in the city. The teashop operates the Tower of Cosmic Reflections, as well as a retail shop next door to the teashop. The Tao of Tea is located at 3430 SE Belmont Street.
