Visit Bridgeside, The Small Town Burger Joint In Oregon That’s Been Around Since 1946
If you love burgers, you have plenty of great spots to choose from here in the Beaver State. We particularly love the places that have been around for decades, because in addition to great food, you get a sense of history while you dine. Here’s a burger joint that’s been through a few changes in the last few years, but it’s been an Oregon treasure since 1946.
Welcome to Bridgeside! This place has recently had a name change, but you might remember it as Char Burger, which was a Columbia River Gorge icon for decades.
The Clark family opened this little burger joint back in 1946, and it changed ownership several times over the years.
The original building was replaced with the current one back in 1972, and in 2013, new owner DM Stevenson Ranch purchased the business.
In 2014, the restaurant was completely remodeled. The interior is new and updated, but the view is still exactly the same, and oh what a view it is!
The Bridge of the Gods, which spans the Columbia River, is literally right outside.
In 2015, the name of the restaurant was changed to Bridgeside, which certainly reflects the atmosphere of the restaurant. You'll definitely get your fill of beautiful bridge views while you're here.
The dining room is full of cool memorabilia from the area, and it's a cozy spot.
If the weather allows, you'll want to dine on the patio, where you'll get a fresh, Columbia River Gorge breeze and some amazing views of the river.
While there have been a lot of changes here in the last few years, one thing has stayed the same: the food is still every bit as delicious as you remember.
The original Char Burger is still on the menu. It includes a 1/3-pound Cascade Farms, char-broiled beef patty, organic white cheddar, lettuce, tomato, and pickle.
Other tasty burgers include The PCT (a veggie burger with chipotle aioli), Bridge of the Gods Burger (with thick-sliced bacon), and The Big Island Burger (with shaved ham and pineapple, shown below).
You'll also enjoy five other burgers, a host of sandwiches, salads, and soups, and some tasty entrees like ribs, mac 'n cheese, and salmon.
In addition to lunch and dinner, breakfast is served every day until 11 a.m. You'll find a menu full of filling options, including omelets, pancakes, waffles, hash browns, and more. It's a great way to fuel your Gorge adventures!
You won't want to skip dessert here, either. Check out the dessert case brimming with decadent treats like cake, pie, cheesecake, muffins, and more.
Dine at Bridgeside seven days a week! It's open 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
