It’s a gorgeous swimming hole with crystal-clear, cold water that’s tucked away in the foothills of the Arbuckle Mountains in southern Oklahoma. Located inside the recreation area is Travertine Creek - a gorgeous creek that runs through stunning scenery in this national park. The creek is not only beautiful but is a perfect spot to cool off in summer, as it maintains an average of 65 degrees year-round.
The recreation area has more than four different hiking trails, many leading to natural spring-fed swimming holes. Travertine Creek Trail is an easy hike, just under 3 miles roundtrip that takes you along the stunning Travertine Creek and Little Niagara.
The gorgeous blue and green colors of the creek make it a popular destination year-round. If it's too cold to swim in, it still makes for a beautiful backdrop while hiking or fishing.
