It’s hard to believe one of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten is located in a gas station. Inside VP Racing Station in Oklahoma City, you’ll find Lip Smackers Restaurant serving half-pound burgers that are lip-smacking good. They just opened in 2018 and it should be on every meat-eating Okie’s list of places to visit.
Lip Smackers Restaurant is located inside VP Racing Station at 4200 North Pennsylvania Avenue in Oklahoma City, just off the I-44 service road.
This restaurant is far from fast food. In fact, everything is made fresh and all the burgers are 100% Angus beef never frozen. After opening and some major press, they went from making 10 burgers a day to 150 a day.
On the menu, you'll find 12 different burgers, including the Fried Jalapeno and Cheese Burger and the French Brie Burger. Sides include regular fries, sweet potato fries, homemade potato chips, fried okra, and a side salad.
Oh, and there's a heavenly Mushroom & Swiss Burger that comes with sauteed mushrooms and cooked with garlic butter, salt, and pepper. You can also order it with lettuce, tomato, and homemade garlic mayo.
